THE RED CHORD- "FED THROUGH THE TEETH MACHINE" REVIEW BY METAL MARK!

After a solid 10 years of The Red Chord in the metal scene, they come with their best stuff in years with "Fed Through The Teeth Machine." They are now down to one guitarist, but it doesn't take away from the pure force of this album.

Twenty seconds into the cd, your speakers explode with metal insanity. From this point on, you want to break anything within reaching distance. The guitars are loud, the bass is ferociously pounding, the drums are attacking every nerve in your body, and then the vocals arrive to awaken the evil beast inside of you. Of course, the band throws in similar parts to previous albums, but the technical aspect is way beyond anything they have written before. A lot of their death metal influence is more present in this CD and that makes this metal kid raise the horns high. Oh yea and what guitar situation? One guitar is plenty for this band. From their brutal as hell breakdowns, to the guitar solos, to the thrashy riffs, this is a complete album for any metal guitarist to bang their head to. As a bass player, I love when you can actually hear the bass on a CD, and this CD has some killer bass parts to go along with the amazing guitar parts. And as for the drums, good luck keeping up with them, they are blindingly fast on this album. The vocals are pretty much what you expect from The Red Chord. It's loud, it's angry, it makes you want to punch things, and it's perfect for their sound.

After the first listen, you can tell that the band really took their time with songwriting on this disc, as each songs moves with great precision. And although most songs are under three minutes long, they are the fastest, most violent three minutes of your metal life. My personal favorite tracks are "Demoralizer", "Hymns And Crippled Anthems", and "The Ugliest Truth." There really isn't a bad song on this album, and that was really surprising for me. They stepped beyond bands of their similar genre and marked their spot in the metal scene for years to come. So big respect to The Red Chord, as I was blown away by the CD. I rarely get a CD that goes beyond my expectations, but "Fed Through The Teeth Machine" is definitely one of them. HAILZ!
