How are you?
I’m good, very good, thank you.
I heard you just visited the Atlanta Zoo?
Yea we have a couple of friends that used to work at the zoo so they gave us a little private tour of the elephants and lions. We actually got to feed the elephants, play with them, and take pictures with them, so it was really cool. It was something we normally don’t get to do we when visit a city, so it was awesome.
Earlier today Lacuna Coil also played an in-store acoustic set, what is your favorite thing about playing shows like that?
I think acoustic sets are cool because they are so different. Even though I would rather have songs written specifically for acoustic sets, not as we do because we play our original songs, the shows are fun and always a good time. It’s a good dimension for this band, we can do it really well, so I think maybe in the future we may write more acoustic stuff.
How has the Harddrive Live tour been so far for Lacuna Coil?
Really good. It’s a good combination of bands, with Taking Dawn, and then MATSOD, who is more southern hard rock, then us, and then All That Remains, it’s been a really heavy and melodic show, so it fits us perfectly. It’s just a great variety of music for the fans, so it’s cool.
In April, Shallowlife came out in stores. Looking back at the album, do you feel it’s the best Lacuna Coil so far?
I don’t really look at it like that. I think it’s the perfect CD for now, for 2009 ya know. I still think we can do something better, and a lot of the stuff in the past is really good as well. I think every album is related specifically to the time when you release it , the music your listening to, and what your feeling at that moment. So hopefully in 2010 or 2011, we will have something a little different, but better for the fans.
How long do you see the band touring on this album?
We will be touring on this album for a couple of years. So it’s already been around a year, so probably for another year or so. We are also working on some special songs with Lacuna Coil for something in the future. So we will be recording some new stuff when we get home, but it will only be a few songs.
This United States tour has been very successful for the band, what is your favorite city to play in the U.S.?
I love to play in L.A. Even though it’s always busy, with the endorsements, press, and very stressful, the vibe of the shows are always good. The crowds are always huge there. There are a ton of good cities to play, but I really like the Californian vibe. The U.S. has always been really good to Lacuna Coil, which is cool.
When you off the stage, away from music, what can we find you doing?

As soon as I get home, I try to relax as much as possible. Just do the normal stuff that I don’t get to do on tour. I hang out and eat with my parents, go out with my friends, the usual stuff. We have a side project in Italy, which is a charity, to raise money to build water wells in certain areas of Africa. It involves all independent artists in Italy working together, playing shows, playing football(soccer), and other fun stuff. I like to stay busy. I love video games, I love to play football(soccer) like I said, I love martial arts, skateboarding, a lot of stuff. Girls, food, beer, ya know, the necessities of a good life (laughter).
What’s your beer of choice?
Pilsner Urquell, which is a beer from the Czech Republic that I love. It’s just a great quality beer.
What are your favorite songs to play live?
Fragile and I Won’t Tell You.
Any last words to the fans?
See you soon on the road. We will be here for two more weeks, then head to Canada. But we should be back in the States in the summer, so look out for those dates. And for people in Europe, we will be there in February and March, so see you on the road! Cheers
